There are many excursions that can be made starting from Agriturismo il Giogo. In addition to the trekking and mountain bike trails, you can find many opportunities for recreation for young and old. You can visit the most famous places on the Etruscan coast by following the itinerary of the wine road, taking advantage of it to taste some of the best Tuscan wines. Or still dedicate time to the spirit in the Buddhist temple – Lama Tzong Khapa. For the family, on the other hand, there is no shortage of opportunities for fun, in addition to the numerous beaches in the area, you can in fact visit the amusement and water parks and the Livorno aquarium. And for those who love cities, visits to the cities of Pisa, Bolgheri, Castagneto Carducci, Castiglioncello, Livorno, Volterra, Lucca and Florence cannot be missed; all at a distance between 20 and 60 minutes.

Aqua Village

Distance: 19 km – 25 min.

Cecina Aqua Village is a water park located at Cecina Mare, open every day from June to September, between 10am and 6pm. The park’s main attractions are the slides: the Kamikaze, the Twister, the Anaconda and the Surfing Hill. There are also trampolines and courts for inflatable water football, human table football, and beach volleyball. The wave pool completes the facilities, where there is an aqua gym, the Relax Laguna and a large hot tub. Inside the Aqua Village there is a restaurant, a canteen and a snack bar. It is also possible to eat food brought from home in the picnic area.

Cavallino Matto Amusement Park

Distance: 34 km – 29 min.

Cavallino Matto is the largest amusement park in Tuscany, located in a pine forest that overlooks the Tyrrhenian Sea at the Marina di Donoratico (in the province of Livorno). It is generally open from the end of March to October. The park has a vast range of attractions including a cannon-boat ride on the waters of the Buccaneer’s Bay, a 3D cinema, a wild mouse roller coaster and a path over logs. It is perfect for families on holiday in Tuscany looking for an afternoon of fun and games. It also has a restaurant, a bar, a self-service and picnic area, and a pizzeria.

Buddhist Temple

Distance: 12 km – 10 min.

In Pomaia there is a Tibetan Buddhist centre Lama Tzong Khapa from the same school as the Dalai Lama, who has visited it many times himself. In this peaceful place of fellowship, monks have constructed a small Tibetan temple, with chorten (cenotaphs), prayer flags and sacred paintings. Visiting the Buddhist centre at Pomaia is a chance to meet and come together with those of different religions. The centre organizes courses in Buddhism and other disciplines like bio-dynamic agriculture, meditation and psychology.

Acquarium of Leghorn

Distance: 31 km – 37 min.

The aquarium is located at the “Mascagni terrace”, a chessboard overlooking the sea, with a strong historical and cultural, but also architectural and artistic value. You will be able to immerse yourself in an oasis of peace where you will find a window on the underwater world, made up of tanks with various marine environments, but also a vast reptile house where you can discover the fabulous world of insects and reptiles. Also, don’t miss the top floor, from here you can admire a breathtaking view of the suggestive islands of the Tuscan archipelago.
