A small detour-an absolute must in an itinerary which, as
well as the strictly environmental aspects, also focuses
on the inevitable historical-archaeological implications-brings
us to Rosignano Marittimo and its splendid Museo Archeologico.
Set up in 1957 by a group of archaeologists, and recently
inaugurated in
the new premises of Palazzo Bombardieri, it represents a
centre for the divulgation of the results of a scientific
research aimed at delineating the essential features of an
area which is geographically and historically homogenous;
the account is illustrated by the archaeological evidence
left by the various peoples which succeeded each other in
the region.
Rosignano Marittimo is a medieval town situated on a hill.
It is the ideal place for a holiday: here people
can relax, discover a lot of interesting historical aspects,
enjoy themselves and always be close to nature. Near Rosignano
you can visit
Castelnuovo della Misericordia, Gabbro and Nibbiaia which
offer you several nice restaurants and locals
to taste the typical dishes of the area and meet a lot
of new interesting people.
In Rosignano there are many periodical events. Don’t
miss the exhibitions and festivals organized in the city
and nearby towns during the year; you will discover the
history,
the culture and traditions of Tuscany
and its territories.
